CHIEF PROSECUTOR PARTICIPATED IN MEETING WITH EU4JUSTICE PROJECT OFFICIALS
20.10.2020. 17:19The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, participated through video conference in the 5th meeting of the Steering Committee of the EU4JUSTICE Project.
The meeting was chaired by Mr Nicolas Bizel, Head of Operations for Justice and Home Affairs of the EU Delegation to BiH, Mr Adrien Elbe, Deputy Director of Operations at the GIP-Justice Coopération Internationale (JCI) addressed the participants of the meeting in his keynote address and the meeting was also attended by the Director of the Secretariat of the HJPC BiH, Admir Suljagić.
At the meeting, the representatives of the Steering Board of the EU4JUSTICE Project, with which the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH had intensive cooperation in the past period, introduced the new Team Leader, Mr Damien Romestanto, who will take office on 1st November this year.
Ms Isabelle Arnal, Team Leader, presented an analysis of the results achieved in the process of strengthening the rule of law within the activities of the Project, as well as a plan of activities in the future, in efforts to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to European integrations, in the field of justice and strengthening the rule of law.
Chief Prosecutor Tadić informed the representatives of the Project’s Steering Committee about the positive impact of the EU4JUSTICE Project on the work of judicial institutions and strengthening the rule of law, and especially emphasised the importance of education and exchange of experiences with experts from France and the European Union in the fields of financial investigations, provision of support in the improvement of the TCMS-System for automatic case management in prosecutor’s offices, mutual legal assistance, and management of seized assets, as well as in other segments in the fight against organised crime and corruption.
The Chief Prosecutor pointed out that the Project, which started working in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and then expanded to all prosecutor’s offices and police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, should be continued and that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was open to continue cooperation.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH had an extremely good cooperation with Ms Isabel Arnal, who was involved in the organisation of the Prosecutor’s College in Mostar, in which she participated, and the Chief Prosecutor thanked her for her work and cooperation so far.
