INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS
01.10.2020. 11:21Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following persons:
- Gordan Kosjerina, born in 1966 in Sarajevo, residing in Ljubinje
- Draženko Pudar, born in 1981 in Mostar, residing in Mostar
- Vlado Lugonja, born in 1984 in Ljubinje, residing in Banja Luka
- Đorđe Kosjerina, born in 1993 in Ljubinje.
These accused persons are charged with procuring a large quantity of cigarettes without appropriate excise stamps of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to acquire unlawful material gain. They were hiding those cigarettes and transporting them to other persons for the purpose of their further sale on the illegal tobacco market.
The Indictment alleges that, on at least three occasions, the aforementioned accused persons organized the transport and distribution of about 7,000 packs of illegal cigarettes, which were discovered and seized during the transport, in the area of Hadžići and Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje.
These accused persons are charged with illegally putting on the market products that are not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus committing the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in Article 210a, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
