  • INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR SMUGGLING OF MIGRANT BY ABUSE OF BIH AND SWISS CONFEDERATION DOCUMENTS

A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has filed an indictment against:

-          Muris Purić, born in 1968 in Travnik, citizen of BiH.

The accused is charged that he, with an intent to acquire illicit property gain, took part in the smuggling of AQ, an illegal migrant from Pakistan, with the aim of illegally transferring him across the state border of BiH and further to Switzerland and EU countries.

The indictment alleges that the accused obtained someone else’s BiH travel document and a Swiss residence permit, which he gave to the illegal migrant, and told the bus staff that the latter was allegedly a handicapped person who could not speak.

The accused and the illegal migrant were prevented from smuggling when it was discovered that the Pakistani citizen was using BiH documents, which were issued to another person, after which the Border Police prevented the smuggling of the migrant.

The Accused is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
