INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ENDANGERING INTERNATIONALLY PROTECTED PERSONS AND ATTACK AGAINST OFFICIAL PERSON ON TASKS OF SECURITY IN BIH INSTITUTIONS
16.09.2020. 13:13Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- Ranko Petrović, born in 1990 in Tuzla, residing in Tuzla.
This accused person is charged with making serious threats to the life of the internationally protected person- Head of the EU Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Lars Gunnar Wigemark, in March of 2019, through the statements made on an Internet portal from the Internet address he used, as well as with making serious threats to the Chief Prosecutor, Ms. Gordana Tadić, who represents and heads the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is under 24-hour police protection, calling for her murder, which has caused serious fear and anxiety among the aforementioned persons and disturbed the public.
This accused person is charged with endangering internationally protected person by a serious threat to attack his life, as well as with making a serious threat to attack an official person in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereby he committed the criminal offence of Endangering Internationally Protected Persons, referred to in Article 192 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the criminal offence of Attack against Official Persons on Tasks of Security, Detection and Apprehension of Perpetrators of Criminal Offences, referred to in Article 241b. of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
