15.09.2020. 16:04
Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of this case has filed a motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seeking custody for the suspect Senad Samardžić, born in 1973, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR BORDER POLICEMAN SUSPECTED OF CORRUPTIVE OFFENCE OF ACCEPTING GIFTS AND OTHER FORMS OF BENEFIT

The aforementioned suspect is subject to investigation due to the existence of grounded suspicion that he committed the criminal offence of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit, referred to in Article 217, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the criminal offence of Abuse of Office or Official Authority, referred to in Article 220 of the same Code.

In the course of the investigation, evidence was collected indicating that the suspect had requested and received money from one person, in order to unlawfully facilitate the return of a seized motor vehicle.

The measure of custody has been proposed in relation to the aforementioned suspect for reasons as stipulated in Article 132, paragraph 1, item b, of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the fear that the suspect, if at large, might hinder the inquiry, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accessories.

The motion for custody has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
