At the Duboki Potok site, in the Kneževo municipality, an exhumation process is underway, coordinated by a Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the assistance of a Legal Officer who is present directly at the site.

It is a very inaccessible location, in a mountain gorge, which had previously been demined upon an order of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Alpine Team of the State Investigation and Protection Agency – SIPA is providing its support in the process of the search for mortal remains.

A forensic pathologist is also present at the site, together with a representative of the IRMCT Field Office- member of the TERA operational group for searching for missing persons, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons and representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), as well as representatives of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior who are securing the site.

Ropes and specialist equipment are being used in the search for the mortal remains.

So far, several fragments of human bones have been found, which are presumed to belong to one person, and the search continues intensively.

According to the operational data, mortal remains of Bosniak victims from the Kotor Varoš area, who had tried to reach Travnik via the Mount Vlašić in 1992, could be found at this site.

Intensive exhumation work continues.
