INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLEGAL TRADE OF ACCESS PRODUCTS
17.06.2020. 18:50A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has filed an indictment against:
Nedžad Tahirović aka “Zeljo”, born in 1975 in Butmir, Sarajevo, citizen of BiH.
The accused is charged that during April this year and the Covid 19 pandemic, he was found selling about 757 kilograms of cut tobacco without excise stamps, as well as several hundreds of packs of cigarettes, at the stand and the warehouse he used at the green market in Stup.
The above-mentioned tobacco products without paid excise duties and without any accompanying documents were discovered during the inspection carried out by the Group for Combating Smuggling and Violations, within the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH.
The indictment alleges that the accused illegally traded in excise products, for which excise duties were not paid, and that this way he damaged the budget and all citizens of BiH.
The accused is charged with the criminal offence of Illicit Trafficking in Excise Products under Article 210a of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
