SUSPECT OF WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN 1992 IN BRATUNAC DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

The suspect is charged with the crime committed against a Bosniak victim in the place called Glogova, on 18 May 1992.  
  • SUSPECT OF WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN 1992 IN BRATUNAC DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

Acting pursuant to an Order issued by a Prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) located, identified and deprived of liberty the following suspect in the area of Bratunac:

- Tadija Mitrović, born in 1952 in Magašići, in Bratunac.

This suspect is subject to investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina as he is suspected of acting, as a member of the Republika Srpska Army, in contravention of the provisions of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, during the widespread and systematic attack against the civilian Bosniak population from the area of Bratunac and its surroundings.

He is suspected to have committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity, as referred to in Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the course of the day, the suspect will be handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of the case who will question him and subsequently decide whether to file a motion for custody and what further activities will be taken in the case.
