JOINT OPERATION OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BiH AND CROATIAN USKOK IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ORGANIZED CRIME AND TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUGS
05.07.2019. 15:42Under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, SIPA police officers are conducting activities of search and deprivation of liberty of suspects on several locations in the area of Western Herzegovina.
The activities are supervised by a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, who coordinates the work of dozens of police officers on the ground and also communicates with the colleagues in Croatia.
It is an international operation codenamed Tebra, which is being implemented together with the Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) from the Republic of Croatia.
The individuals under the investigation are suspected of having participated in trafficking of narcotics.
Following the searches and the arrests, the suspects will be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor who will decide on further activities in the case.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
