CHIEF PROSECUTOR GORDANA TADIĆ AND DELEGATION OF BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE PARTICIPATE AT EVENT ON OCCASION OF CROATIAN STATE ATTORNEY’S OFFICE DAY
24.05.2019. 15:50Upon the invitation of the Chief State Attorney of the Republic of Croatia Dražen Jelenić, the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gordana Tadić and the officials of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina have participated at the ceremony marking the Day of the State Attorney’s Office, which has been held on the premises of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb.
The ceremony has been attended by numerous prosecutorial, judicial and state officials from Croatia and other countries, to whom the work of the State Attorney’s Office in 2018 has been presented. Also, awards have been presented to the officials of the State Attorney’s Office for their work in year 2018.
During the Zagreb visit, Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić and BiH Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša have met with their Croatian counterparts, Mr. Dražen Jelenić and Mr. Dražen Bošnjaković.
The meeting has been an occasion to exchange views on important issues related to cooperation, and particularly on the significant issue of the referral of war crimes cases, where a possibility for such a referral is foreseen by the current Agreement between the two respective countries and by a Prosecutorial Protocol, but where certain procedural issues needed to be resolved in order to facilitate efficient prosecution, which has been resolved today.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
