CHIEF PROSECUTOR MEETS WITH BiH COURT STANDING TRIAL PANEL FOR WAR CRIME CASES
20.02.2019. 15:55Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH Gordana Tadić, together with Deputy Head of the Special Department for War Crimes Izet Odobašić, met with judges of the BiH Court Standing Trial Panel for War Crimes Cases, Minka Kreho, Željka Marenić and Staniša Gluhajić.
The meeting was realised within the implementation of strategic measures from the National War Crimes Strategy and there was a discussion at it about activities and obligations of the institutions in the implementation of the measures envisaged.
In its work, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH acts in accordance with the recommendations of Judge Joanne Korner, as well as with the recommendations from the National Strategy, in order to utilise resources to the largest extent possible, which is also essential for the implementation of IPA projects related to the prosecution of war crimes cases.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Court of BiH are involved in the process of proposing and transferring cases to entity judicial institutions, issuing and executing orders for exhumations and search for missing persons, as well as in other activities related to work on war crimes cases.
Meetings between the officials of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Court of BiH are held periodically and these institutions report about their activities to the supervisory body for monitoring the implementation of measures from the National War Crimes Strategy.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
