CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF BiH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE MEETS WITH HEAD OF OFFICE OF COUNCIL OF EUROPE TO BIH
07.02.2019. 15:36The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, met with Ambassador Drahoslav Stefanek, Head of Office of the Council of Europe to BiH.
At the meeting, there was discussion about the activities the BiH Prosecutor’s Office is implementing to strengthen the rule of law, in particular in the segment of strengthening judicial institutions and the fight against organised crime, corruption, trafficking in human beings, smuggling of people and other criminal offences that undermine the rule of law, as well as the peace and security of citizens.
Chief Prosecutor Tadić presented to Mr Stefanek the operation and the results the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH achieved, as well as planned activities in the future, as the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH already participates in a number of international operations, together with partner institutions from European countries, in combating the most serious forms of international, cross-border and organised crime.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
