BY THE ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH A BIH CITIZEN SUSPECTED OF BEING AT THE BATTLEFIELDS OF SYRIA AND IRAQ WAS ARRESTED

The BiH Prosecutor’s Office and the police agency have determined through operational activities that this suspect had, in the period from July 2013 up to date, stayed in the war-torn area of Syria and Iraq as a member of the terrorist organizations Al-Nusra Front and ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
The suspect is under investigation for the criminal offense of Organizing a Terrorist Group under Article 202d in conjunction with the criminal offense of Terrorism referred to in Article 201 of the CC BiH
The suspect will be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH within 72 hours, following which further activities regarding the suspect will be decided on.
The BiH Prosecutor’s Office and partner police agencies continue to intensify their combat against terrorism and all activities that can be linked to terrorism.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
