CUSTODY PROPOSED AGAINST PERSONS SUSPECTED OF WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN KRIŽANČEVO SELO
09.11.2018. 14:36Custody will be proposed for the reasons set forth in Article 132, item b) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the danger that, if at large, the suspects might hinder the inquiry, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accessories.
The suspects in this case are under investigation due to the commission of the criminal offence of War Crimes against Prisoners of War, as referred to in Article 175 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the commission of the criminal offence of War Crimes against Civilian Population, as referred to in Article 173 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina resumes its intensive investigation in this case.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
