  • INDICTMENT FILED AGAINST 4 PERSONS FOR CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY IN VLASENICA AREA

A prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against:

1. Simo Stupar, born in 1962 in Vlasenica

2. Zoran Stupar aka ‘Uštipak’, born in 1964 in Vlasenica

3. Zoran Tešić aka ‘Koke’, born in 1965 in Vlasenica

4. Goran Tešić aka ‘Goce’, born in 1962 in Vlasenica

The indicted persons are charged with the fact that during a widespread and systematic attack against Bosniak civilians in the territory of Vlasenica, they, as members of the reserve personnel of the Vlasenica Public Security Station (SJB), and the indicted Zoran Tešić as a member of the VRS, acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

The indicted persons are charged with the fact that they personally and directly participated in the attacks on villages and places inhabited by Bosniak population, including Džamdžići, Alihodžići, Gradina and other places, within which at least 16 Bosniak victims were killed, several dozens of civilians persecuted, including minors, and imprisoned in the Sušica camp in Vlasenica and the facility of the SJB Vlasenica, and within which the houses and property of the Bosniak population were looted and set on fire.

The mortal remains of a large number of victims were found and exhumed after the war, but for a number of victims, after having been taken out of captivity, every trace has been lost and they have still been listed as missing persons.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will prove the allegations from the indictment by calling 89 witnesses, 3 expert witnesses, and by filing about 200 pieces of material evidence.

The indicted persons are charged with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity in violation of Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
