EXTENSIVE ACTION AGAINST SMUGGLING OF NARCOTICS CARRIED OUT
16.09.2018. 14:56Acting pursuant to an Order issued by a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) have carried out an extensive action in the area of Zenica, which resulted in finding and seizing of around twenty (20) kilograms of different narcotic drugs.
In this action, three suspects have been deprived of liberty, and the Prosecutor in charge of the case has coordinated the field activities from the SIPA headquarters.
The activities have been carried out in cooperation with the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the course of this action, a larger quantity of different narcotic drugs has been found and seized, namely:
- 15 kilograms of cannabis-marijuana narcotic drug
- 3.9 kilograms of amphetamine (speed) narcotic drug
- 0.316 kilograms of amphetamine (ecstasy) narcotic drug
- 0.4 kilograms of heroin narcotic drug
The value of the aforementioned quantities of narcotic drugs reaches the amount of tens of thousands BAM on an illegal narcotics market.
This action represents a decisive blow of the law enforcement agencies against the drug crime structures in the Zenica - Doboj Canton and in the whole Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The persons deprived of liberty will be handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of this case, who will question them and subsequently decide on further activities in the case.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
