The accused Safet Hasikić, born in 1985 in Brčko, has concluded, in the presence of his attorney, an agreement on admission of guilt for the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Arms, Military Equipment and Dual-Use Products under Article 193 of the CC BiH.

The accused pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle two automatic rifles, magazines and ammunition into the territory of the Republic of Austria.

The efforts of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, SIPA and other partner agencies in BiH, together with the efforts of the colleagues from Austria invested in this joint operation, resulted with detection of a group of persons suspected of trafficking weapons and ammunition who were arrested in the area of Brčko and its surrounding area while the weapons and ammunition were seized.

By virtue of the agreement, the accused admits the commission of the criminal offense for which he was charged by the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office and consents to the proposed sentence of 1 year and 8 months in prison, as listed in the agreement.

Pursuant to the agreement the accused has pledged to testify against the other accused persons in this and other cases of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in relation to the committed criminal offenses of which he has knowledge.

In accordance with the agreement, two automatic rifles, magazines and ammunition seized in the conducted police operation will be confiscated from the accused.

The unlawful property gain in the amount of BAM 1000 obtained through commission of the criminal offense will be confiscated.

The proposed sentence is in line with the role and responsibility of the accused in commission of the criminal offense.

In accordance with the agreement the accused waives his right to trial and the right to appeal the verdict rendered by the Court of BiH pursuant to the agreement.

The agreement was forwarded to the Court of BiH.
