INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS
04.07.2018. 14:39The accused is charged with attempting to put in illegal circulation a larger quantity of tobacco on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 1 March 2016, which was not marked with control and excise stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the allegations in the Indictment, having previously purchased tobacco on Arizona Market from a person known to him, the accused loaded into a passenger’s motor vehicle 80.255 kilograms of dry cut tobacco which was packed in plastic bags and, while he was driving that vehicle, he was stopped in Novi Grad by officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who then found and seized the tobacco which was intended for the black market in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused Pašalić is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, as referred to in Article 210a of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
