INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR SMUGGLING OF PERSONS
04.07.2018. 14:35Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following persons:
- Nedžib Đono aka Gale and Garavi, born in 1975 in Sarajevo,
- Amel Ušanović, aka Uške, born in 1985 in Sarajevo.
These accused persons are charged with taking over ten (10) illegal migrants, including six (6) minors from the territory of Kosovo and four (4) persons of unknown origin, in the course of September 2017, according to the previous agreement and for the purpose of acquiring unlawful material gain.
The Indictment alleges that the accused persons transported the illegal migrants, who had no valid travel documents and who had entered Bosnia and Herzegovina illegally, in the direction of Bihać and the state border with the Republic of Croatia, in order to make possible for them to cross illegally to the territory of the Republic of Croatia and to move further towards the EU countries.
The accused persons and the illegal migrants were detected in the commission of the said criminal offense by the police officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused persons are charged, as co-perpetrators, with transporting the smuggled persons under 18 years of age, making possible for them to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons, as referred to in Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
