INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST AMIR HASKIĆ (1995) IN THE TERRORISM SECTION
20.02.2018. 15:28Prosecutor of the Terrorism Section within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against the following persons:
- Amir Haskić, born in 1995 in Sarajevo, a citizen of BiH.
The accused is charged with having created a plan and secured the necessary funds with the aim of joining a foreign paramilitary formation operating outside BiH and with having decided to join the so-called ISIS, which was declared a terrorist organization by the UN Security Council.
The indictment alleges that in November 2017 the accused entered into contact with an active member of the so-called ISIS located in Syria and communicated to ISIS members that he provided the necessary funds and that he would join this terrorist group, as well as that he would, upon arrival to Syria, set the passport of Bosnia and Herzegovina on fire and take part in armed conflicts in Syria as a member of the terrorist group the so-called "Islamic State".
The accused was detected in his intentions, located and prevented by the police and security structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina after which searches were carried out in the facilities he used and the individual was deprived of liberty and remanded in custody.
The accused is charged with the criminal offense of Unlawful Establishing and Joining Foreign Paramilitary or Parapolice Formations under Article 162b (2) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
