INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY COMMITTED IN THE AREA OF ROGATICA MUNICIPALITY
26.01.2018. 15:49- Nenad PEROVIĆ, born in 1949 in Guždelji, Rogatica municipality, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with having, during the period from May 1992 to the end of 1993, within the widespread and systematic attack by the military, the police and paramilitary units directed against the Bosniak civilian population in the Rogatica municipality, while acting in his capacity as a member of the Army of Republika Srpska - MPO 7084 Rogatica, assisted another soldier in compelling a civilian ethnic Bosniak female, using force or threat to the life and body of the victim and in committing rape and with having attempted to rape another Bosniak civilian person and with committing another form of grievous sexual violence against the same person, thus leaving both victims with severe physical and psychological consequences which they still feel to date.
The accused is charged with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 (1) (h) in conjunction with (g) of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Articles 26 and 31 and all in conjunction with Article 180 (1) of the same Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
