EXHUMATION COMPLETED IN BRATUNAC MUNICIPALITY
05.01.2018. 13:27The exhumation process has been supervised and coordinated by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mortal remains have been transported to the Commemorative Centre in Tuzla, where further forensic and crime investigation processing will be done and bone samples will be taken in order to perform the DNA analysis and thus determine the victim’s identity.
The exhumation process has been conducted with the participation of the officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, as well as an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Police Station in Bratunac.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with the institutions involved in the process of tracing and identification of missing persons, continues with its intensive activities aimed at finding missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
