INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR SMUGGLING OF PERSONS
08.12.2017. 15:36- Adem Tufek, born in 1989 in Mostar, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This accused person is charged with illegal transportation of three migrants, citizens of Turkey, across the state border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, in April of 2017, for the previously agreed sum of money, all for the purpose of acquiring unlawful property gain.
According to the allegations in the Indictment, Tufek took over three Turkish citizens after the previous agreement with a person known to him, put them in a rented vehicle and drove them near the Doljani Border Crossing; as those Turkish citizens did not have valid documents for the stay in the Republic of Croatia, he instructed them how to cross the state border illegally, on foot, by using a forest path.
The three aforementioned persons crossed the border illegally, and, as agreed, the accused was supposed to wait for them in the vehicle on the other side of the border. When the illegal migrants started walking towards Vrgorac, they were spotted by the police of the Republic of Croatia and they were subsequently readmitted to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aforementioned accused person is charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons, as referred to in Article 189, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
