INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST 2 PERSONS FOR COUNTERFEITING OF MONEY
07.12.2017. 15:04Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against the following persons:
- MIRKO TRIVAN, born in 1990 in Drvar, a citizen of BiH, and
- ALEKSANDAR BUDIŠA, born in 1993 in Knin, a citizen of BiH.
The accused are charged with having committed two criminal acts on 24 January 2016 in Kotor Varoš by way of obtaining counterfeit BAM banknotes in denominations of 20 and 50, aware that those were counterfeits, and having designed a way to put them into circulation in order to use them as genuine banknotes, thus causing damage to citizens and legal entities.
According to the indictment the accused persons have, on two occasions, put into circulation counterfeit banknotes in the denomination of BAM 50 in the catering facilities paying the bill for ordered drinks in one case, and in the other case attempting to pay and obtain change in genuine banknotes, when they were, pursuant to information provided by citizens, caught by authorized police officers.
During the search of the motor vehicle belonging to the accused Mirko Trivan, which was performed by the authorized officials of the Banja Luka Public Security Center, four counterfeited banknotes were found, one in the denomination of BAM 50 and three banknotes in denominations of BAM 20.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
