EXHUMATION OF BODIES OF VICTIMS FROM PAST WAR COMPLETED IN NOVO GORAŽDE/USTIPRAČA MUNICIPALITY
10.11.2017. 15:25The found mortal remains will be transported to Goražde, where further forensic and crime investigation processing will be done and bone samples will be taken in order to perform the DNA analysis and thus determine the victims’ identities.
The exhumation and the work of all the persons involved in the exhumation process have been coordinated by an Investigator, under the supervision of the Prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the respective case.
Officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Police Department in Foča - Police Station in Novo Goražde have participated in the search for, and the exhumation of the mortal remains, and the necessary workers and adequate mechanization have been employed.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with the institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, continues with conducting exhumations and searching for the missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
