WAR CRIME SUSPECT SURRENDERS HIMSELF TO SIPA AND BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
24.10.2017. 15:26One suspect from the territory of Foča, who is suspected of the commission of the war crime, has surrendered himself to SIPA, in the presence of his defence attorney, and, after he has been criminally processed, he will be brought before the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of this case, who will question him and subsequently decide on further activities in this case.
This suspect is under investigation due to the suspicion that he committed the war crime of a rape of one victim of Bosniak ethnicity from the territory of Foča, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In order to protect the investigation, we cannot provide more information or details at this point in time.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
