ANOTHER SUSPECT DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN THE ACTION CODENAMED ’RECIDIVIST’
22.08.2017. 13:16As part of further activities within the action codenamed ‘Recidivist’, aimed at detecting and prosecuting organized narco-crime structures operating in Brčko and throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and Brčko District Police arrested the suspect Srđan Krndija, born in 1990 in Banjaluka, upon the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Also, operational work and investigative activities yielded information about possible locations hiding a larger quantity of narcotic drug; consequently, additional searches were carried out, as a result of which, more than two kilograms of Heroin narcotic drug was found, with the approximate value of BAM 100,000 in the illegal drug market, which makes it one of the largest seizures of Heroine in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past period.
The action codenamed ‘Recidivist’ is focused on fighting organized drug crime in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose members conducted international smuggling of narcotic drugs to Bosnia and Herzegovina and further distribution of narcotics in the illegal drug market in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.
As part of this action, significant cooperation has been established with partner institutions of the Republic of Serbia.
Investigative activities continue, and persons subject to investigation have been suspected to have committed the criminal offenses of Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, respectively.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
