WORKING MEETING BETWEEN OFFICIALS FROM RESPECTIVE WAR CRIMES DEPARTMENTS OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BiH AND THE COURT OF BiH
24.05.2017. 15:21Ms Gordana Tadić, Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with officials from the Special Department for War Crimes in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, had a joint meeting with Judge Minka Kreho, Head of Criminal Division of the Court of BiH, and the Standing War Crimes Chamber of the Court of BiH.
Joint recommendations were agreed at the meeting, and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Court of BiH will present them to the Working Group for Drafting Amendments to the State War Crimes Strategy.
According to an earlier agreement, representatives from the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Court of BiH carried out an analysis of KT RZ cases completed so far and came to a common position and conclusion on necessary activities, which they will submit as recommendations for modification of the existing criteria within the State Strategy and which will be the starting point for the work of the Working Group.
The joint proposals pertain to specific criteria in the State Strategy, whose changes will allow faster work on war crimes cases, as well as a better and faster flow of war crimes cases to entity-level Prosecutor’s Offices and monitoring of the implementation of these activities.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the OSCE Mission to BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
