INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF ILLEGAL TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS
18.05.2017. 15:30- Aleksandar JOVIČIĆ, born in 1978 in Bijeljina, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia.
According to the indictment Jovičić is charged with having, on 12 February 2017, transported a larger amount of cut tobacco, which was not marked by excise stamps as prescribed by tax legislation of BiH, with the aim to put the tobacco in question on the market.
The accused has, in the afternoon of the aforementioned date transported 153.972 kg of cut tobacco packaged in plastic bags in the trunk of his vehicle in the territory of the municipality of Krupa na Uni.
During the inspection of his motor vehicle the authorized officials of the BiH Border Police have seized the mentioned tobacco.
The accused is charged with the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a (1) in conjunction with article 26 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
