INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST THREE PERSONS ACCUSED OF ILLICIT INTERNATIONAL TRAFFICKING OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT AND WEAPONS

Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against the following persons:
  • INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST THREE PERSONS ACCUSED OF ILLICIT INTERNATIONAL TRAFFICKING OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT AND WEAPONS

1. Saša DENIĆ, born in 1985 in Aleksinac, Republic of Serbia, citizen of the  Republic of Serbia,

2. Elvis TAHIROVIĆ, born in 1989 in Travnik, BiH citizen, and

3. Besima TAHIROVIĆ born in 1994 in Vitez, BiH citizen.

The accused are charged with having,  in the period from March to November last year, with the intent and driven by common interests, in consultation with a person from the Republic of Italy i.e. the organizer and head of organized criminal group,  joined the group thus providing decisive contribution as members in its work

The said group was organized for the purpose of trafficking and brokering in trade of arms and military equipment without the license prescribed by the law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in order to gain unlawful property.

The accused are charged with having, on five occasions, as previously agreed with a person from the Republic of Italy, transported large quantity of arms and ammunition i.e. automatic rifles and pistols illegally across the border from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina into Republic of Italy for a specific monetary compensation in the amount of 500 to 1000 euro per piece.

The accused are charged with the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250 in conjunction with Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Dual Use Products under Article 193, all in conjunction with Article 54 of the CC BiH

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH conducted the investigation in cooperation with the EU countries, to prevent the trafficking of arms from Bosnia and Herzegovina into the territory of the EU where it is used in commission of crimes.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
