INDICTMENT ISUUED FOR SMUGGLING OF GOODS
12.04.2017. 14:41The accused is charged with having, in his vehicle on 1 December 2016, smuggled 200 kilograms of fresh fish without any documentation, the import of which requires approval of the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina as illegal transport in inadequate conditions can cause danger to health of citizens, across the border between BiH and the Republic of Croatia, more specifically outside the border crossing at the location of Kašće in Ljubuški municipality.
The aforementioned goods were confiscated during the control of the authorized officers of BiH Border Police.
The accused is charged with having transported goods the import of which requires special approval, without proper authorization and by way of avoiding customs control, across the customs line, thus committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods under Article 214 (2) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
