ACTING CHIEF PROSECUTOR MEETS WITH EUROJUST DELEGATION
06.04.2017. 15:08Mrs. Gordana Tadić, Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and her deputies and associates, have met with the delegation of Prosecutors and national representatives from the European Union’s Judicial Cooperation Unit - EUROJUST, who are on a study visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At this meeting, Acting Chief Prosecutor Tadić has informed her EU colleagues about the work and results of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as about the internal organization of the respective institution and its future plans.
In view of the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has participated together with its partner institutions and EU Prosecutors in several international operations in order to fight the most complex types of crime, the activities aimed at signing the Agreement on Cooperation have also been discussed in the meeting, as this Agreement would enable easier and faster communication and implementation of international operations, along with the establishment of joint teams.
In the past few months, Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina have participated in several international operations together with the institutions of Austria, Germany, Croatia, Italy, Benelux countries, all for the purpose of fighting international crime related to the smuggling of weapons, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, smuggling in persons, cyber crime and other criminal offenses.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
