PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA TIMELY SENDS RESPONSES TO THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION QUESTIONNAIRE
01.02.2017. 14:10As part of the process of European integrations, the Prosecutor’s Office has had an obligation to provide responses to the Questionnaire, which contain detailed information regarding normative provisions, legal regulations and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office in segments relevant for the Questionnaire, pertaining to the prosecution of cases falling within the area of responsibility of the Prosecutor’s Office, as well as to the internal organization and procedures and compliance with international legal standards.
In the past fourteen years of its existence, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued Indictments against more than 5000 persons, for criminal offenses falling within its area of responsibility, which represents a significant contribution to the establishment and strengthening of the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the post-Dayton period.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
