INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES COMMITTED AGAINST CIVILIANS IN THE AREA OF BOSANSKI BROD MUNICIPALITY
30.12.2016. 12:30- Blažan Kljajić, born in 1967 in Slavonski Brod, a citizen of BiH and the Republic of Croatia
The accused is charged with having acted in violation of International Humanitarian Law and in violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War in the period from March to August 1992, during the armed conflict in the municipality of Bosanski Brod in Bosnia and Herzegovina between the Croatian Defense Council and the Army of the Serb Republic, while acting in his capacity as the Commander of the IV Battalion within the 101st Brigade of the Croatian Defense Council in Bosanski Brod.
According to the indictment, Kljajić is charged with having planned, participated, helped, ordered and incited the unlawful imprisonment of civilians, killings and physical and psychological abuse of ethnic Serb civilians.
The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173 (1) c) and e) of the CC BiH, in conjunction with Article 180 (1), all in conjunction with Article 29 of the same Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
