INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY COMMITTED IN DOBOJ MUNICIPALITY

The accused is charged with having participated in the enforced disappearance of a person in June 1992, while acting in his capacity a member of the Armed Forces of the Army of the Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina within a widespread and systematic attack directed against the civilian non-Serb population in Doboj Municipality.
According to the indictment, Simić is charged with having, together with other armed soldiers, taken a Bosniak victim from the field known as Dvorine to the barracks in Ševarlije during the morning of 12 June 1992 in Ševarlije - a place located in Doboj Municipality. The victim disappeared without a trace and his body has not been found to this date.
The accused is charged with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 (1)(I) of the Criminal Code of BiH in conjunction with Article 180(1) of the same Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
