ANOTHER SUSPECT OF WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN SARAJEVO DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY
22.12.2016. 07:49The suspect is under investigation for the war crimes committed against the victims of Serb ethnicity in 1992, in the territory of Sarajevo.
In the interest of the ongoing investigation and further activities, the suspect’s identity will not be disclosed at this moment.
The aforementioned suspect is under investigation and he is charged, as a member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH), with the commission of crimes in the territory of Sarajevo, against the victims of Serb ethnicity, civilians and elderly persons, who remained living in the area of the city controlled by the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The suspect will be handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of the case within the time specified by law, for further prosecution.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues its intensive investigation in this case.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
