INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN FOČA MUNICIPALITY
24.11.2016. 15:23- Žarko Vuković aka "Žara", born on 12 October 1957 in Vladikovi a place located in Foča municipality where he resides, BiH citizen.
The accused is charged with having committed several rapes of a female civilian with use of force and threat, during the period from the beginning of April 1992 until the end of March 1993, within the scope of a widespread and systematic attack directed against the civilian Bosniak population of the municipality of Foča, while acting in his capacity as a member of the armed forces of the Republika Srpska.
According to the indictment, the accused is charged with having arrived, armed and in company of two other soldiers, to the family house of the injured party and with having forced himself on the victim, with the use of force and threat to life and body, and with having repeatedly raped her; the two soldiers who arrived with the accused also committed rape of the aforementioned victim.
The rape has left serious physical and psychological consequences for the victim that she still feels today.
The accused is charged with Crimes against Humanity pursuant to Article 172 (1) (g) of the Criminal Code of BiH, all in conjunction with Article 180(1) of the same Code.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
