JOINT COOPERATION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM, ARMS SMUGGLING AND OTHER CRIMES DISCUSSED AT THE MEETING OF THE ACTING CHIEF PROSECUTOR AND THE DELEGATION OF SECURITY AGENCIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF FRANCE
09.11.2016. 17:33The central topics of the meeting were mutual cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the fight against smuggling of arms, ammunition or dual-use products, which are the areas in which we have already established cooperation in specific cases. Also discussed were efforts to combat other criminal offenses of cross-border crime.
The Prosecutor´s Office of BiH cooperates with partner institutions from the Republic of France and other EU countries, in the framework of joint operations in the fight against terrorism related to participation of foreign fighters at the battlefields of Syria and Iraq, as well as in the fight against the smuggling of arms, explosives, ammunition and other military equipment left over from the war in BiH.
We have cooperated with French Authorities in the fight against human trafficking and illegal migration in the context of the case codenamed ’’CD’’.
The modalities of further cooperation of law enforcement agencies were agreed at the meeting.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
