08.11.2016. 17:16(Sarajevo, 20 October 2016) – The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) - Second-Instance Disciplinary Panel for Prosecutors rendered a decision regarding the appeal of the defendant Goran Salihović and his counsel against the First-Instance Disciplinary Panel Decision by which the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Goran Salihović was removed from office as Prosecutor and Chief Prosecutor in the Prosecutor’s Office pending disciplinary procedure, with effect from 29 September 2016.
The Second-Instance Disciplinary Panel dismissed the appeal and a supplement to the appeal of the defendant Goran Salihović and his counsel as unfounded and confirmed the First-Instance Disciplinary Panel Decision of 28 September 2016.
This Decision is final and no appeal may be filed with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against it.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
