CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH HEAD OF THE EU DELEGATION AND EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
05.05.2015. 14:46The Chief Prosecutor informed Ambassador Wigemark about the capacities and the background of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH including the organization of the institution and its jurisdiction, as well as results achieved in the previous period.
The focus of the meeting was on the activities in the fight against corruption, organized crime, terrorism, as well as prosecution of war crimes.
The Chief Prosecutor emphasized that the support of the international community and the authorities of our country is very important for the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH if it is to achieve better results in its work.
Ambassador Wigemark supported the activities of the judiciary in establishing the rule of law and creating a better and safer living environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and voiced his support to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
Chief Prosecutor pointed out that the European Union is an important partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressed his gratitude for the support that the EU provides to judicial institutions and underlined the commitment of BiH Prosecutor’s Office for Co-operation on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
