EXHUMATION OF BODIES OF MISSING PERSONS FROM THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN THE AREA OF HADŽIĆI
11.12.2014. 15:05The found mortal remains will be transported to Visoko, where forensic analysis will be performed, cause of death will be determined and bone samples will be taken for the DNA analysis in order to establish the victims’ identity.
These activities were supervised and coordinated in the field by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas the process of exhumation of mortal remains was conducted with the participation of an Investigator of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist, a crime inspector and crime technician of the Ministry of the Interior of Sarajevo Canton and a police officer of the Police Station in Hadžići who was securing the site.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and finding missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
