10.10.2014. 15:47
Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:
  • INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR WAR CRIMES IN TUZLA

-      Muradif Salkić aka Mure, born on 03 October 1957 in Gornja Tuzla in the Municipality of Tuzla, where he also resides, with prior convictions, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused is charged with acting, during the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH), military postcode 5462 Tuzla in Kozlovac, in violation of the provisions of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War dated 12 August 1949 and Protocol (I) Additional to the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Victims in Conflicts, which prohibits any violence to life, health or physical or mental integrity of persons, in particular prohibiting inhumane treatment and torture of any civilian population for the purpose of inflicting heavy suffering or serious physical or mental injuries or deterioration of health.

The Indictment alleges that, around 8 p.m. of the 4th of June 1992, after a Serb civilian driving his motor vehicle from the direction of Mramor in the Municipality of Tuzla had been stopped and unlawfully deprived of liberty by four armed persons and then taken to Kozlovac, where he was tied, the accused Salkić treated the civilian inhumanely by beating him, torturing him and mistreating him, by making cuts in his body with a knife and threatening him to slaughter him, all of which caused severe physical injuries and mental damages to that person.

The accused is charged with deliberate infliction of severe physical and mental pain upon the victim, as well as with torture and inhumane treatment of the victim during the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is in violation of international humanitarian law, whereby he committed the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians, as referred to in Article 142, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY).

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
