MORTAL REMAINS OF AT LEAST TWO PERSONS FOUND DURING THE EXHUMATION IN ZVORNIK
03.10.2014. 13:33Mortal remains of at least two persons were found, and the subsequent process of identification through the DNA analysis will determine the number and identity of victims whose mortal remains were found.
The mortal remains will be transported to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla for further forensic processing and identification.
The field activities related to the exhumation process were supervised and coordinated by the Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the participation of the officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Public Security Center in Zvornik who were securing the site.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with all other institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying missing persons, continues with its intensive activities aimed at tracing missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
