DETERMINATION TO FIGHT IRREGULARITIES. BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH EMPLOYEES OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE AND THE COURT OF BIH DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

The aforementioned suspects are under investigation for the continued criminal offense of Embezzlement in Office under Article 221 of the CC BiH and the criminal offense of Aggravated Theft in co-perpetration.
They are suspected with having, during a longer period, while acting in their respective capacities: Trifković as a driver employed by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and Petrović as a clerk specialist for execution of criminal sanctions and recording of the seized objects in the Court of BiH, stolen goods (evidence) stored within the judicial complex and sold it thus obtaining unlawful financial gain.
In the interest of the investigation, at this time we cannot provide any more information to the public.
The Assigned Prosecutor will file a motion for remand in custody to the Court of BiH for a period of 30 days.
The Prosecutor’s Office will insist on forfeiture of illicit proceeds gained by the suspects within the scope of this case.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH emphasizes that it is decisive in its fight against crime and corruption and that it will intensively and thoroughly investigate and prosecute all illegal acts, especially due to the fact that the perpetrators were employees of the judicial institutions.
Disciplinary proceedings shall be carried out against the employee of the Prosecutor’s Office who has already been removed from his duties.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
