EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS KILLED DURING THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN PRIJEDOR
16.09.2014. 15:27The recovered remains shall be transported to the Krajina Identification Project Mortuary - Šejkovača located in Sanski Most for post mortem and forensic processing i.e. DNA samples shall be collected in order to determine the identity of the victims.
The exhumation process was supervised by a legal officer of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor specializing in forensic medicine, workers and machinery and police officers of Prijedor PSC who secured the location.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
