REMAINS OF A VICTIM KILLED IN THE PAST WAR UNEARTHED DURING THE EXHUMATION IN THE AREA OF HADŽIĆI
04.09.2014. 15:02An exhumation was carried out on a local forest track, following the landslide that occurred after the floods uncovering the remains.
The recovered remains shall be transported to Visoko for post mortem and forensic processing i.e. DNA samples shall be collected in order to determine the cause of death and the identity of the victim.
The exhumation process was supervised and coordinated by a legal officer of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and attended by an investigator of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor specializing in forensic medicine, Sarajevo Canton MoI CID inspector and forensic technician as well as an officer of Hadžići PS who secured the scene.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
