INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST PERO RADIŠIĆ (1955) FOR WAR CRIMES IN THE AREA OF TESLIĆ
15.07.2014. 10:20The accused is charged with acting, alone or with other persons, in violation of the provisions of the Geneva Conventions relative to the protection of civilian persons in time of war, as member of the Army of Republika Srpska, during the war and armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the territory of Teslić.
The accused is charged with unlawful deprivation of liberty and taking to forced labour of several persons of Bosniak ethnicity, which resulted in the killing of at least six (6) victims and wounding of a larger number of victims during the performance of the forced labour at the front line.
Мoreover, the accused is charged with torture, mistreatment, beating and torture in extremely humiliating ways of victims of Bosniak ethnicity, on several occasions in 1992 and 1993, as those victims were being taken to the front lines of the Army of Republika Srpska to perform forced labour there, as well as with torture and mistreatment of members of their families.
The accused Pero Radišić is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians, as referred to in Article 173 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
