CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH THE DELEGATION OF THE OFFICE OF THE STATE PROSECUTOR GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA. CENTRAL TOPICS OF THE MEETING PERTAINED TO THE INTERSTATE COOPERATION IN FIGHTING ALL FORMS OF CRIMES
17.06.2014. 15:01At this meeting, the issues of prosecutorial cooperation between these two states and joint fight against all forms of cross-border crime have been discussed.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor’s Offices in Slovenia have cooperated in the past, in prosecuting perpetrators of criminal offenses of smuggling of persons, smuggling of narcotic drugs, counterfeiting of money and smuggling of weapons, in which criminal offenses a link between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia was determined.
At this meeting, representatives of the two respective Prosecutor’s Offices have exchanged their experience in combating various forms of crime, and the issues of fight against corruption and financial crime have also been discussed.
Likewise, future intensive cooperation between the respective Prosecutor’s Offices of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia has been agreed on at this meeting, particularly cooperation as part of the process of our country’s European integrations.
Moreover, the possibilities for concluding protocols and agreements on direct cooperation in exchanging information and evidence and in detecting and prosecuting perpetrators of criminal offenses in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia have also been discussed at this meeting.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
