CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH THE OFFICIALS OF THE U.S. BUREAU OF INTERNATIONAL NARCOTICS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AFFAIRS (INL)
09.06.2014. 15:07International cooperation of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH with the judiciary and police of the countries in the region in the prosecution of cross-border crime as well as international cooperation of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH with the U.S. judiciary and police in the prosecution of organized crime, terrorism and war crimes were discussed at the meeting
INL representatives expressed their support to the Prosecutor’s Office in the process of entrenchment of the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the activities that the Prosecutor’s Office undertakes in its efforts to strengthen the regional cooperation in the prosecution of war crimes and organized crime.
Concrete cooperation in the future was also discussed given that INL Bureau develops policies and manages programs aiming to assist partner countries to strengthen law enforcement and institutional capacity of the rule of law thus enabling partner countries to effectively combat international production /trafficking of narcotics as well as international crime and terrorism, in cooperation with the countries in the region.
As these programs also support the work with victims and witnesses in criminal cases the activities that the Prosecutor’s Offices undertakes in support of victims and witnesses were also discussed.
