AN EXHUMATION IS BEING CARRIED OUT IN DOBOJ

The exhumation is being carried out at the location of Usora in the area of Doboj municipality. Complete remains of 4 persons and incomplete remains of one were unearthed.
Following the recovery the remains shall be transported to PUC Town Cemetery Visoko for forensic and criminal investigation processing i.e. collection of DNA samples in order to determine the identity of the victims.
The exhumation process is attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor specializing in forensic medicine, police officers od PSC Doboj and an Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
The exhumation process is being supervised by an Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH who acts on instructions of the Prosecutor and coordinates the efforts of police, forensics and other authorized persons participating in the exhumation process.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the remains of the missing in all parts of BiH.
The exhumation process will continue.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
